Last updated 2026-10-17. Covers U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls announced from January 1, 2026 through October 15, 2026 (the latest recall date in the data). We add each month’s recalls at the start of the following month.
This page is a running list of every 2026 CPSC recall we found for baby and toddler products: cribs and mattresses, bassinets, loungers, bath seats, high chairs, walkers, gates, teethers, toddler towers and toys made for children under 3. It’s a reference, not a how-to. If you want the step-by-step process for checking your own gear, registering it and buying second-hand safely, use our guide to checking whether your baby gear has been recalled.
We compiled this from CPSC’s public recall data. We haven’t inspected or tested any of these products, and every row links to CPSC’s own recall notice, which is the authority if anything here differs.
How to use this list
- Search this page for the brand (Ctrl+F or “Find on page” on a phone). Many of these brands sell under more than one name, so also search for the product type.
- Open the CPSC notice from the product link and compare the model number, colors and sale dates with the label on your item. A recall often covers only certain models or dates.
- Follow the remedy in the notice. Most 2026 notices tell you to stop using the product right away and contact the company; many ask you to destroy it and send a photo before you get a refund or replacement.
- Not on this list? That doesn’t mean a product is safe or unrecalled. Recalls from earlier years still apply, so search CPSC directly as our recall-checking guide explains.
Car seats aren’t here. Car seat and booster seat recalls are handled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), not CPSC. Look them up with NHTSA’s recall search. Formula and other foods are FDA’s and aren’t covered either.
At a glance: 2026 so far
Data source: CPSC’s recall web service, queried on 2026-10-17 for recall dates January 1 to October 17, 2026.
- 76 baby and toddler product recalls so far in 2026, out of 485 CPSC recalls of all kinds (about 1 in 6).
- Most common types: toys for children under 3 (13), teething toys (12), toddler kitchen towers (10), infant loungers and other infant sleep products (8), and baby walkers, jumpers and swings (5).
- 60 of the 76 (79%) list Amazon as a place the product was sold, and 68 (89%) were sold only online, according to CPSC’s “where sold” text.
- 53 of the 76 (70%) say the product violated a mandatory federal safety standard or ban, such as the standards for infant sleep products, infant walkers, bath seats, gates or toys, or the small parts ban.
- 11 recalls were pull-string or tentacle teething toys whose silicone strings were too small or too long.
- About 1.7 million units were recalled in the U.S. across these 76 notices, based on the unit counts CPSC reports.
- The leading hazards named in the notices were choking (31 recalls), falls (25), entrapment (23) and suffocation (12). Four recalls, all bath seats, named drowning.
- Most remedies are refunds: 59 notices offer a refund only; the rest offer a repair kit, a replacement or a choice of refund or replacement.

Patterns in 2026’s baby recalls
Aftermarket crib and play yard mattresses
Two 2026 recalls (KEAWIS in January and Voomf in August) describe the same risk: a separately sold mattress that may not fit some play yards, leaving gaps where a baby’s face can become trapped. That’s why our best pack and play guide only considers play yards that come with their own mattress or pad. If you’re still choosing a sleep space, see crib vs. bassinet vs. play yard.
Baby loungers, nursing pillows and other padded infant products
Seven baby lounger recalls cited either the infant sleep product standard (sides too low, a foot opening too wide, no stand, or a pad too thick) or the infant support cushion standard (padding that can block a baby’s breathing). Two nursing pillow recalls, a convertible baby gym with a padded mat and a self-feeding pillow that props a bottle add to the same picture, along with a padded crib bumper sold despite the federal ban. Two bedside sleepers were also recalled, one for a gap between the sleeper and the adult bed and one for a mattress that can shift. For what a safe sleep space looks like, read our safe sleep guide.
Inclined sleepers: none appeared in CPSC’s 2026 recall data through October 15.
Bath seats that tip over
Four baby bath seat recalls (January, February twice and October) all said the seats violated the federal infant bath seat standard because they are unstable and can tip over in the water, posing a drowning risk; one also had leg openings that could trap a child. These are listed as warnings only. For bathing without one, see how to bathe a baby.
Pull-string teething toys
Eleven recalls involved silicone teethers with pull strings or tentacles. CPSC’s notices say the strings were smaller or longer than the toy standard allows and could lodge at the back of a child’s throat; the January notices alone cite 32 and 15 choking incidents. Ten of the eleven were sold on Amazon, and most remedies ask you to cut off the strings and send a photo.
Toddler kitchen towers
Ten tower stool recalls, from April to July, include brands sold for years on Amazon and Target. Most describe towers that can collapse or tip over and side openings a child’s torso can fit through. Several offer free repair kits (stabilizing feet and side nets) rather than refunds, so check the notice before you throw one away.
Baby walkers
Four infant walker recalls said the walkers fit through a standard doorway and didn’t stop at the edge of a step, both requirements of the federal walker standard. A fifth recall covered Taleco Gear jumpers and swings, with 32 reported injuries.
Mostly online, mostly small sellers
Nearly 9 in 10 of this year’s baby recalls were sold only online, and many notice titles name the marketplace seller (“Sold on Amazon by…”) rather than a well-known brand. Several firms ask buyers to destroy the product and email a photo to get a refund. If you buy from a marketplace, register the product if you can and keep the order details, so you can match a notice later; our recall guide covers registration.
For more safety guides, see the baby safety hub.
What’s included and what isn’t
- Included: CPSC recalls of products used by or for babies and toddlers, including nursery furniture marketed for changing, infant sleep and feeding products, gates, monitors, and toys only when CPSC says they’re intended for children under 3, calls them baby or toddler toys, or cites the small parts ban, small ball ban or teething toy rule.
- Not included: children’s clothing and sleepwear, bike helmets, toys with no age stated in the notice, and general dressers. CPSC announced 28 other dresser recalls in 2026 for tip-over hazards; they weren’t marketed for nurseries, but any unanchored dresser in a child’s room is worth a look.
- Not covered by CPSC: car seats (NHTSA) and formula or baby food (FDA).
FAQ
How many baby products have been recalled in 2026?
By our count, 76 CPSC recall notices for baby and toddler products were announced between January 1 and October 15, 2026, out of 485 CPSC recalls overall. We update the count monthly.
What should I do if something I own is on this list?
Open the CPSC notice, confirm your model and dates match, and follow its remedy. Most 2026 notices say to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for a refund, repair or replacement. Don’t sell or give away a recalled product.
Are car seat recalls on this list?
No. Car seats and boosters are regulated by NHTSA, so check NHTSA’s recall search with your seat’s brand and model.
Where can I check older recalls or a specific product?
Search CPSC’s recall database by brand and product type. Our guide to checking baby gear recalls walks through it, including how to find your model number.
